Teong Chuan (TC) is the Head of Research and Development at ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), where he leads the integration of innovative technologies across the company’s global data centre portfolio. In this role, TC is responsible for strengthening STT GDC’s technical capabilities to support the deployment of advanced, next-generation solutions across the group.

TC’s scope of work covers a wide range of innovative technologies, including AI-driven cooling system optimisation, hybrid liquid-cooling proof-of-concept initiatives, and sustainable fuel alternatives such as Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). TC’s forward-thinking leadership ensures that STT GDC’s infrastructure continues to evolve in step with the demands of the digital age.

With more than 20 years of experience in designing, constructing, and operating mission-critical facilities, TC has held senior roles across multiple sectors, including data centres, pharmaceuticals, higher education, and broadcast media. Prior to joining STT GDC, he played a pivotal role in the development of Singapore’s new broadcast centre and oversaw engineering operations at the MediaCorp Broadcast Centre.

TC holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia and is a Certified Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) accredited by the Energy Market Authority (EMA).
